Join us for a rollicking hike under the redwoods and blue sky in support of our Tuition Equity Fund! Children and parents will enjoy a short loop with a treasure hunt, noticing signs of spring, exploring Joaquin Miller Park’s mysterious monuments, spotting native plants near the Friends of Sausal Creek nursery, and taking in stunning views of the San Francisco Bay.
From now through our Spring Picnic on May 3rd, we invite families to gather donations for their child’s hike-a-thon. We encourage each family to aim for $100 raised (even if you can’t attend the hike). Raise $150 and your child earns a Roots y Ramas t-shirt; raise $200+ and receive an adult hoodie! All participants receive a special prize, regardless of amount raised.
All hike-a-thon and Spring Picnic funds support our Tuition Equity Fund. Roots y Ramas is a forest school rooted in the belief that
Nature is Teacher. From the forest, we learn that diversity is essential to resilience. Our Tuition Equity Fund helps ensure that children and families who might otherwise be excluded can access full-time, daily nature-based education. Your donation helps grow a more inclusive forest community where every child can belong and thrive.
Please note that donations to the hike-a-thon are not tax-deductible. If you would like your donation of $100 or more to be tax-deductible, please use
this link or make out a check payable Growing Together, Bay Area and note "Roots y Ramas" in the memo section.
